Dogs and cats have a long history of HATING each other.  But it's nice to know that when it's crunch time, they've got each other's back.

A woman in Seminole, Florida named Sherree Lewis recently looked out a window into her backyard, and was horrified when she saw two coyotes trying to tear her CAT in half.

Luckily, Sherree has been taking care of her son's pit bull, Jack, while her son's stationed in Afghanistan.

And before Sherree could even react, Jack bolted out the back door and CHARGED them.  And as soon as the coyotes saw the dog coming, they dropped the cat and ran off into the woods.

In the end, the cat suffered a broken tooth and some other injuries, but it's at home recovering.  And Sherree says Jack is constantly at its side checking up on it.
