This goes to show how incredible modern medicine can be . . . and also how BIZARRE it can be.

A 20-something industrial worker in China named Xiao Wei suffered a HORRIFIC accident at work back on November 10th, that completely severed his right hand off.  (His name is pronounced "Shao," like "shower.")

So his co-workers grabbed the hand and rushed him to the hospital, where doctors said it WOULD BE possible to reattach it . . . except part of his ARM was also crushed.  So to keep the hand from dying . . . they temporarily sewed it onto his ANKLE.

Earlier this month, Xiao's doctors decided his arm had finally healed enough.  So they removed the hand from his leg and reattached it.

At this point, he's still not out of the woods.  But his doctors say they're hopeful the hand will eventually be fully functional again.
