J.K. Rowling Just Confirmed A Popular Fan Theory About Hermione Granger

Since the beloved Harry Potter series ended in 2007 with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, author J. K. Rowling has continued to expand the wizarding world online. Fans can learn more about their favorite characters on Rowling's website Pottermore, but she also likes to reveal some unknown gems on her Twitter account, as well. Rowling recently confirmed a popular fan theory about Hermione Grange when a Potter fan tweeted to her.

"Theory: J.K. Rowling included that passage on how to pronounce Hermione's name in Goblet of Fire just to school all of us who were saying HER-MY-OWN like Viktor Krum," the fan wrote.

Rowling shared the message and replied, "theory correct."

Come on. Admit it. You were mispronouncing Hermione's name wrong in the early years of Harry Potter, too. I, for one, used to read it as "Her-me-one," which is not great! Thankfully, I got better at reading as I got older and had the helpful Goblet of Fire passage to point me in the right direction.
