'Hangover' Actor, Comedian Brody Stevens Dead At 48 Of Apparent Suicide

Comedian Brody Stevens has passed away of an apparent suicide. He was 48 years old.

According to The Blast, the actor and stand-up comedian was discovered dead at his Los Angeles home Friday (February 22) just before 1:00 p.m. by the LAPD, who are currently investigating Stevens' death as a possible suicide by "hanging."

“Brody was an inspiring voice who was a friend to many in the comedy community. He pushed creative boundaries and his passion for his work and his love of baseball were contagious," the departed comic's rep told the outlet in a statement. "He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. We respectfully ask for privacy at this time.”

Aside from Stevens' high-spirited comedy style, the star was also familiar for his appearances on Chelsea Handler's Chelsea Lately, as well as his bits in films like Due Date and the laugh-out-loud Hangover franchise, in which he starred in the first and second installments.

In the wake of his passing, fellow comedians took to social media to tribute the late funnyman. "Another singular force of nature gone. RIP Brody Stevens," tweeted comedian Marc Maron. Actress Whitney Cummings wrote in mourning, "I love you so much Brody Stevens. Nobody has been nicer in comedy than you. My heart is shattered."

Stevens' inner-circle told The Blast the performer had spent the final months of his life with his mother in Palm Springs.

Sources also mentioned the entertainer had discontinued his medications at some point in hopes of maintaining his comedic creativity. During a taped comedy special, Stevens revealed how altering his medications had caused him to fall into depression.

Rest in Peace.
