Here's today's feel-good story:
After a few weeks of walking to work and seeing someone sleeping in their car in the parking lot, Steve Nava realized he knew the man.
"I noticed that he had all of his belongings in his car, and that's when I realized he was homeless," he told NBC Los Angeles. Nava also realized that the man was his former substitute high school teacher, José Villaruel, who had become homeless once schools went virtual this past year.
Nava helped the former teacher find a hotel and gave him $300.
"I had a mission to help the teacher who was going through a difficult time during the pandemic,” he said.
