BRENDA LEE: "Rockin' Around" An Animated Video

Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" is one of several seasonal classics getting new videos from their label, Universal Music. Befitting its 1950s roots, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" gets a low-tech look reminiscent of UPA Animation, the studio that gave us Mister Magoo.

Lee notes this isn't the first time the song has been matched with visual images. She tells Billboard, "I thought Home Alone was a pretty darn good video so I never brought up the idea...but I'm honored that Universal has created 'Rockin''s first-ever video. I'm aghast in a good way. I became very close to the writer Johnny Marks, who also wrote 'Rudolph' and 'Holly Jolly Christmas;' I'll look up to the heavens and say a little nod to Johnny."

Universal has also created original videos for Frank Sinatra's "Jingle Bells,"Burl Ives's "Holly Jolly Christmas,"Bobby Helms's "Jingle Bell Rock,"The Jackson 5's "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus,"The Supremes' "My Favorite Things,"The Temptations' "Silent Night" and Dean Martin's "Let It Snow."
