Taylor Swift Drops “Lover” Remix With Shawn Mendes

Taylor Swift surprised fans yesterday with a remix of her track “Lover,” featuring Shawn Mendes.

“He has taken ‘Lover’ and he has rewritten parts of it, which I think is so important because I love him as a writer,” she shares on Instagram, “and I also think that everybody would write a different love letter to their lover, and I think his take on it is so beautiful.”

  • Of course, many believe Shawn’s lyrics are about current girlfriend Camila Cabello, and were quick to analyze them, especially the line where he sings, “I’ll sing love songs to you when we’re 80,” which means he’s already looking ahead at their future. He also sings, “The girl in my story has always been you,” suggesting he’s been pining for her for a long time.
  • As for being on the song, Shawn tweeted, “Thank you Taylor Swift for letting me join you on such a beautiful song.”Check out the song to the right.
  • ONE MORE THING! As if Taylor fans weren't happy enough with "Lover,"HitsDailyDouble is reporting rumors around Nashville that claim she may drop another album by the end of the year, and it won't be the "Cats" soundtrack.
