#WEDDINGS: Couples hire photographer to capture UGLY side of weddings!

Check out this story...

This wedding photographer specializes in taking photos of the "UGLY" side of weddings... true candids... the moments which aren't perfectly posed or re-touched.

I think there's something to this. There's a certain beauty in imperfection, you know? And I think now, it's even more beautiful when it's captured on film... because today, so much of what is shown off, displayed, posted or whatever, is vetted, filtered, photoshopped... it's what we want people to see. A faux-perfection...

... but as we know, life isn't always perfect, ya know?

Brides may not want to hear this, but wedding photos tend to all kind of look the same. From the shots of the grooms waiting to the bouquet-tossing, we’ve seen it all before on our Instagram feed. But one photographer in the U.K.is ditching tradition and capturing a side of nuptials we rarely see in pictures - the real, messy, reality of it all.

Ian Weldon isn’t a wedding photographer, but he does take photos at weddings. He says he started photographing marriages and receptions to make money so he could pursue other photography projects and after doing a few the traditional way with all the usual shots, he realized he didn’t like it and decided to put his own twist on things. Now he offers couples a chance to capture the kind of images they don’t see all over Instagram.

His photos are of real, candid moments, not staged ones, and show the un-glamorous, funny, and imperfect parts of the wedding and reception. But they also show the energy and excitement of the day, just not in a clichéd way. Weldon explains, “I like that in a world where people are living somewhat vicariously through their own social media accounts, there are still those who choose to be real."
