It really is the little things when you work from home...

You know, when you work from home, you get used to simple... little things which bring you joy.

Right now, our puppy, Clover Maxwell, is on the couch, next to me, sleeping on a pillow he loves to sleep on. Seeing him sleep next to a pair of my "virtual meeting" headphones... brings me joy.

In the air, around me, is a fragrance which brings me joy...

It's not an essential oil. It's not some chocolate candles from Hershey I love, either.

No, tonight, when I bounced to our physical studios to work on some stuff as we begin the idea of "returning to work" during this COVID time we're in, my daughter, Kyla, 16, a Senior in High School after skipping her Junior Year... went to work in the kitchen....

... where she made brownies.

Now, I can't eat 'em. My gastric surgeon would smack me, as would my doctors because, well, this pandemic has caused each of us to have certain things happen to us as we've sought out some comfort foods...

... but oh, can I smell them.

Even now, the smells of chocolate are still present all around me. It's spectacular. It takes me back to a place when a much younger version of me would smell brownies... cookies... cakes... so many things cooked by a woman I once called Meme.

My grandmom.

Yes, when you work from home, there are little things which bring you joy. Sometimes you see them. Sometimes... you smell them...

... and sometimes, someone you unconditionally love finds a new way to deliver joy to you yet again.

Thanks for reading.
